Portland's Mayor Potter: Let's Consolidate School Districts!

Here's a story from East Portland News about Portland Mayor Tom Potter's proposal to consolidate school districts in the PDX area. I wonder how this idea will fly with David Douglas, Parkrose, Riverdale, Centennial, or Reynolds school district patrons.

East PDX News-Potter says combining school districts best for Portland:

"This idea [of school district consolidation] will not go over well with the districts. They are independent political bodies, their boards are elected. We cannot tell them what to do. But we can bring it up before the citizens."
