The Mrs. and I traveled to Salem's Riverfront Park this past Sunday to visit the Sept. 11 Healing Fields Memorial.
Troutdale resident Kelly Broomall brought the Healing Fields Memorial to Salem this year after staging previous Healing Field Memorials at Gresham's Microchip Technology Inc. campus in 2003 and 2004.
We also visited Salem's Capitol Mall and wandered around the grounds. We had it all to ourselves. It was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. As you can see, the Golden Pioneer Statue looked mighty fine atop the Capitol Building, gazing to the west.
