With the passage of Measure 14-33, the City of Cascade Locks will now have to get voter permission for new taxes or fee increases. The Hood River News reports that Cascade Locks voters also approved Measure 14-32, which prevents the city from condemning private property to pursue an economic goal.
City of Damascus voters also put severe restrictions on their city's ability to raise taxes or fees without voter approval by rejecting three measures that would have allowed the city to impose fees or taxes without voter approval.
