Multnomah County Planning Fees To Skyrocket?

Multnomah County Commissioners are considering gigantic rate increases to its planning fees. According to a an August 28, 2012 OregonLive article,
"An application for a national scenic area conditional use permit, for instance, would climb from the current fee of $1,832 to $18,244. A lot-consolidation permit would increase to $1,546 from the current fee of $148.

Different models under consideration would reduce those fee amounts to $7,735 and $671, respectively".
Don't you just love it when a government agency wants to raise planning fees so high that no one will be able to build anything, anywhere?
