Four Minutes of Jury Duty, Four Bucks, Cash!

My jury duty service for Troutdale municipal court lasted a whopping four minutes this morning. Motions to suppress evidence forced a postponement of the trial until a future date. Judge Ray Young thanked us for our service, and we were immediately paid four dollars in cash by Troutdale municipal court clerk Paula Goldie.

Paula was featured earlier this year in a PARADE magazine "What People Earn" story. Maybe Troutdale jurors will be featured in next year's story. A buck a minute for jury service! Wow!
