These are great pictures. You think living in the windy city we would all be smart enough to secure our garbage and before putting it out. I think those houses that didn't secure their garbage should be out there cleaning it up. I think it should be mandatory for all residents to use the new recycling container that the City of Troutdale worked hard to get. I have one and love it.

I also think we should thank waste management for a wonderful job during the winter storm. They called me at home to let me know what their recovery plan would be. Big kudos to waste management and thanks for the great!

From, windy in Sweetbriar!

YA, LIKE ANOTHER GARBAGE COMPANY IS GOING TO DO BETTER. I HAVE LIVED HERE FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND I AM SICK AND TIRED OF PICKING UP OTHER PEOPLES GARBAGE THAT ENDS UP IN MY YARD. I DON'T LIKE THE WIND BUT I KNOW, YES KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ESPICIALLY ON GARBAGE DAY. SECURE YOUR GARBAGE FOLKS. USE THAT BRAIN THAT GOD GAVE YOU AND USE THE RECYCLE BINS THAT SECURE FROM WM. SINCE I GOT MINE I NOW AM ABLE TO SECURE YOUR GARBAGE THAT ENDS UP IN MY YARD. PS. YOU WON'T GET MY VOTE AGAIN NEXT YEAR IF ALL YOU ARE GOING TO DO IS DRIVE AROUND AND TAKE PICTURES AND PLACE BLAME ON SOMEONE ELSE....NOT HAPPY WITH YOU. BUT YOUR JUST ANOTHER POLITICIAN !!!!!!

I CAN'T BELIEVE I VOTED FOR YOU. IS THAT ALL YOUR GOING TO DO IS DRIVE AROUND AND TAKE PICTURES OF GARBAGE BLOWN OVER BY THE WIND.YOU LIVE IN A WINDY CITY. IS THIS YOUR FIRST WINTER HERE. YOU THINK ANOTHER GARBAGE COMPANY CAN CONTROL THE WIND. HAY, MAYBE A NEW GARBAGE COMPANY WILL SEND OUT WORKERS TO PICK UP THE GARBAGE BLOWING AROUND. OR HOW ABOUT EVERY ONE SECURING THEIR GARBAGE WITH CANS OFFERED BY WASTE MANAGEMENT. I HAVE ONE AND I NOW DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MY GARBAGE BLOWING AROUND, JUST EVERY ONE ELSES. I KNOW WHO I'M NOT VOTING FOR NEXT YEAR.

Part of my job as city councilor is to see what's going on in our neighborhoods. I like to see things for myself and not just take the word of city staff or others.

If you want to vote for someone else, that's your choice.

On my way to a meeting at 6:30am that day, I noticed a larger than normal amount of flotsam and jetsam flying across Troutdale Road, Stark, and Buxton. I had to dodge pieces of cardboard, rolling trash cans, small pieces of flying garbage just an hour later while going down Troutdale Rd/Buxton. It was much worse than a usual Troutdale garbage day. That's why I decided to take a quick tour and see what was going on in other neighborhoods.

The pictures were taken between 9:30am and 10:30am in the Sandee Palisades, Sweetbriar, Beavercreek Lane, and Laura Ave. areas.

Regarding the comment that claimed I "placed blame on someone else", I didn't make ANY comments. I made no judgments. I just posted the pictures.

So what was your point by posting the pictures. You obviously were trying to make some sort of statement or had some type of hidden agenda or you wouldn’t have put them on your blog. I think you should spend more time educating residence on how to prepare their material instead of taking pictures of their mistakes. The mess was caused by two factors: windy and unsecured recycling. We can't fix the wind but we can get secured containers for recycling.

I think you should be spending your time on better things than this. You won’t be getting my vote again.

Folks, don't blame Bob, blame the idiots who do not know how to secure their trash.

If you think those neighborhoods are bad, try driving through the Morgan Meadows neighborhood. Talk about a trash nightmare. Every Wednesday it looks like a tornado went through there.
