Curb Your Enthusiasm

Sometimes I think people don't see the forest for the trees. Or, in a recent discussion in Troutdale, they can't see the bureaucracy for the yellow paint.

One of my fellow Troutdale city councilors recently discussed the fading "no parking zone" yellow paint on a curb on Columbia River Highway. The concern: the paint had faded so much that vehicles were parking too close to the intersection of Buxton Rd.and Columbia River Highway, blocking sight lines and creating a traffic hazard.

Another city councilor requested a work session to discuss this issue. My suggestion? No need for a work session. Just have city staff ask Multnomah county to repaint the curb. Which is what they did. And the county agreed.
