Troutdale's Freda Emmons: Grace In Action

Fellow Toastmaster, Troutdale resident, and new author Freda Emmons is featured in the Saturday, July 21 Gresham Outlook. Her book, Flame of Healing, is now available in bookstores nationwide.

Emmons will be a featured speaker Saturday, Aug. 25, in recognition of National Abuse Awareness Day at Lents Seventh Day Adventist Church, 8835 S.E. Woodstock Blvd., Portland.

I met Freda before I joined Toastmasters. She and her husband Rod came to a city council meeting to tell us about the terrible abuse Troutdale's Glen Otto Park and Sam Cox building were taking because of weekly drunken parties (read a story about one bridezilla's adventures at the Sam Cox building here). When I joined the Gresham Toastmasters last year, it was a pleasure to know that Freda was already a member. Freda is one of our better speakers, and I have learned a lot by watching her speaking and presentation skills.

More importantly, Freda and her husband Rod are two of the most wise, kind, strong, and grace-filled people my wife and I have ever met.

Do yourself a favor. Read the Gresham Outlook article. Then go buy her book. You'll be glad you did.
