Gresham City Council Appoints David Widmark

Former Gresham city councilor David Widmark was again appointed to the Gresham city council today with a 4-2 vote. Widmark formerly served on the Gresham city council from 1996-98 and 2005-2006. Widmark will fulfill the remainder of former city councilor Karylinn Echols' term, who resigned effective August 1. The term ends December 2008.

From an observer's point of view, only Widmark, John Kilian, and Jenni Simonis presented themselves well. They were better prepared, spoke with confidence, and had a firmer grasp of the questions asked of them than the other candidates.

For more information about the candidates, read the Gresham Outlook article here.

Thanks for the comments. I appreciated having the opportunity to go through the process, even though it was obvious the council was going to pick someone who could hit the ground running.

I'm currently going through the process of filing my PAC and will be spending the next 6 months or so out talking to the community and local elected officials. It's sure to be a very educational experience.
