ISS/Shuttle Sighting

Tonight at about 9:36pm the International Space Station(ISS)/Space Shuttle Endeavour passed 180 miles above the Portland area. It was in full view for about three minutes, beginning at about 30 degrees above the NW horizon (two fists above the horizon), passing overhead at 60 degrees, and continuing into the E/SE horizon at about 30 degrees.

The ISS/Shuttle will be passing over the Portland area for the next few evenings- Click here for ISS sighting times. Just click on your location for a time chart. You can also track the orbital location of the ISS here.

I've been a space buff forever, and it's still a thrill to see an orbiting craft slowly makes its way across the sky. . .at 17,000+mph!
