Gresham city councilors will interview seven potential new city council candidates, then vote to appoint and swear in the new councilor on Tuesday, Aug. 21. That's a lot of interest for a volunteer job. But it's good to see so many folks in Gresham who want to invest in their community.

I have no idea who they'll select. I think the city council meeting starts at 3pm. Maybe I'll stop by and watch.
